Why Use Kilnwizz ??Submitted by Anonymous on Thu, 07/01/2010 - 16:17 |
1. Experience Firing glass.
Firing glass, fusing glass paint is a magical process. To see pieces of your work glowing quietly in the melting flame, and to know every stroke you made with a brush is now 'set in stone'. One can only know what this joy feels like when a piece, however simple, is created, and fired in a kiln.
2. Kilwizz makes glass bejeweled..
Stained glass is so beautiful. The colors dazzle. No other light source- electronic or otherwise, can compare to natural sunlight, sparkling through a stained glass window, tiffany lamp, or the endless infinite variety of stained glass creations. But the light is so strong, and the colors so intense, its difficult to use the strongest colors. The strongest colors could be described as 'too loud' ! That's why many choose to use colors that are gentle. If a strong color is used- say red, it tends to dominate all the more gentle colors around it. The solution is to paint, and shade the strong colors, allowing only small areas of intense color to shine through, rich rubies, blue and gold diamonds.
3. Kilnwizz adds value to your work.
Hand painted work commands much higher prices.
Ceramic mugs, plates, cups etc are pretty cheap to buy. You can buy a mug for example, for a dollar or two. But when you buy a hand painted mug, set of plates, or ornament etc, they cost considerably more ! It is the same with glass. A hand painted window, sun catcher or tiffany lamp, beads, etc is simply worth many times more, with a simple hand painted design.
4. Kilnwizz* is inexpensive to run.
Compared to normal kilns. An electric kiln uses allot of electricity, and this adds up. Kilnwizz is extremely efficient. The reason for this is that it fires very quickly. Larger kilns take time to heat, as as they heat slowly, they also lose a huge amount of heat in the process.
5. Kilnwizz saves time.
It's something that can be overlooked in our passion for glass, and art. Kilnwizz is effortless. It heats and cools in 30 minutes. The very necessary experimentation then becomes effortless. When you get the look that is wished for, then fire the final piece for the project being worked on.
6. Kilnwizz is portable.
It weighs 4 pounds. Bring it over to another Glass Artisan, or studio, or friends house, and work with the magic of fire..
7. Extensive support.
We are providing extensive support for our fellow crafts people- tips, tricks, design, techniques. Please view some of our work on this site- all was created using Kilnwizz. We wish others to be part of this, and in the act of creating works of art, learn about ourselves.
