Kilnwizz, is a small portable kiln, about the size of a telephone book- 10 by 9 inches, and 3 inches tall !
Kilnwizz uses a blow torch as a heat source. The blow torch is simply positioned at the flame intake, at the front of Kilnwizz. All the stained glass shown on this site, was fired with Kilnwizz.
Kilnwizz uses Bernoulli's principle to control the fluid nature of the flame. Firstly, the flame is considered an inviscid flow. An increase in the speed of the fluid flame occurs simultaneously with a decrease in pressure or a decrease in the fluid's potential energy. This means that Kilnwizz is capable of taking a single flame, and spread it as a sheet, across almost the entire roof of the kiln.
No other kiln in the world uses fluid dynamics, to attain even heat distribution. And this make kilnwizz a revolutionary design in kilns.
Kilnwizz is capable of going to temperatures of 1100º centigrade, or 2012 Fahrenheit, can heat glass to firing temperature in 10 to 15 minutes.
Because Kilnwizz is a gas kiln, it retains the ability to produce different atmospheres. Kilnwizz will produce reduction firings, using metallic salts, oxidizing, and neutral atmospheres.
Gas kilns are far superior to electric kilns, as they can produce several different atmospheres. For instance a reduction atmosphere, oxidizing, or neutral. The flame can be used to heat metallic salts, which will color glass. Or used for salt, or soda firings. Many people use electric kilns as gas kilns are expensive. Kilnwizz can be used for glass painting, fusing, or applying frit, beads buttons, annealing, etc etc.
